Surprise yourself

Doesn't this look terrible?  That's Specky's husband 100 feet in the air.  The whole family did a ropes course this summer in Tahoe but because of the sheer horror the idea of it gave her - and the perfect excuse that she had to watch the kids - Specky sat on the sidelines and watched everyone have an incredible time.  She knew she had missed out on a really cool experience. So last Saturday when Specky's husband suggested they go to Great America, unbeknownst to her, she had decided to completely embrace the experience.  She had planned on holding purses and hats while everyone went on the rides, but she ended up screaming through two of the scariest roller coasters and laughing with sheer bliss when they were over.  She surprised herself that she was brave enough to literally take the plunge.

It's good to surprise yourself now and then.  It makes life far more interesting.  What have you done lately that's taken you completely by surprise?
