We are totally guilty of reading Us Weekly over the New York Times. Ms. Bloom makes a very strong case for the opposite while offering a lot of ways for us gals to "stay smart in a dumbed-down world"! Full disclosure: there is quite a bit of self-promotion going on here but, if you can get past that, there are some solid nuggets of wisdom.
